Synthetic mica is also called fluorophlogopite. It is made of chemical raw materials by melting, cooling and crystallizing at high temperature. Its single crystal is KMg3(AlSi3O10)F2, which belongs to monoclinic system and is a typical layered silicate. Its many properties are superior to those of natural mica, for example, the temperature resistance is above 1200℃, the volume resistivity of synthetic fluorophlogopite is 1000 times higher than that of natural mica at high temperature, and it has the characteristics of good electrical insulation, extremely low vacuum outgassing at high temperature, acid and alkali resistance, transparency, peelability and elasticity, etc. It is an important nonmetallic insulating material for modern industries and high technologies such as motors, electrical appliances, electronics and aviation. More than 95% of the synthetic mica blocks obtained by internal heating method are small crystals, that is, synthetic mica chips, which can be used to make a variety of insulation products, such as synthetic mica paper, laminate, fluorogold mica powder, mica pearlescent pigment and mica ceramics.
