Red iron

Hematite is one of the important iron ore minerals. Ti, Ga, Co and other elements can be comprehensively utilized when they reach a certain amount. Iron oxide can be used as mineral dye. 　　 Hematite is widely distributed. Hematite can be produced by various endogenesis, exogenesis or metamorphism. Longyan Iron Mine in Xuanhua, Hebei Province, China and Ningxiang Iron Mine in Hunan Province are hematite deposits formed by sedimentation. Hematite is often produced in sedimentary metamorphic and contact metamorphic iron ore together with magnetite. It is a kind of iron oxide and the main ore mineral of iron. Although other metals gradually replace iron, iron is still the most important metal. Hematite is one of the most important minerals in economy. There are only a few places where hematite has perfect metallic flash rhombic crystals. However, in more cases, the crystal is often flat, and even forms a thin plate. Some samples are clustered into roses, which are called iron roses. Sometimes it is a scale-like aggregate, which is called specularite. All these well-crystallized hematite varieties are black, but the streaks, that is, the color of mineral powder, are all red. The so-called kidney-shaped iron ore is this kind of red. Kidney-shaped iron ore is a radial aggregate with kidney-shaped surface. Red is the color of most earthy hematite without crystal form.
