The asbestos fiber

Asbestos is a natural fibrous siliceous mineral, is a silicate mineral fiber widely used in building materials fire board, is the only natural mineral fiber. Rocks are produced by dynamic metamorphic conditions. Asbestos fiber refers to serpentine and hornblende series of inorganic mineral fiber, the basic composition is hydrated magnesium silicate (3Mg0·3SiO2·2H2O). Asbestos fibers are characterized by heat resistance, non-combustion, water resistance, acid resistance and chemical corrosion resistance. There are more than 30 kinds of asbestos fiber types, but the most used in industry are 3 kinds, namely chrysotile asbestos, crocidolite asbestos, iron asbestos. Asbestos is carcinogenic, and there is a possibility of contracting cancerous mesothelioma and lung cancer in an environment with heavy asbestos dust. Therefore, attention should be paid to protection during operation. Used as high temperature resistant and flame retardant reinforcement filler for adhesive bonding.
