As a non-renewable resource, barite is one of China's dominant export mineral products. It is widely used as weighting agent for oil and natural gas drilling mud, and its consumption in barium chemical industry and filler is also increasing year by year. China is rich in barite resources, which are distributed in 21 provinces (regions), with a total reserve of 360 million tons of ore, ranking first in the world. It is medically used as a contrast agent in the digestive system.
